So often (especially folks with a history of abuse, pain, mistrust, oppression or abandonment), rebel against authority and structure of any kind, due to fear and mistrust.

The people who transcend that space and FLY submit themselves. Not to the "authority" itself, but to wisdom, knowledge and knowing that in order to teach, one must first learn. At least, that's been my experience. When we think we know it all and are not open to instruction, we're on a path to self-destruction.
